Stop Avoiding this One Thing to Grow Your Contractor Business
In front of his truck bays, Larry discusses the one thing contractors avoid. To watch the video sign up above.
Did you think you could become successful and continue to ignore this one thing you've been avoiding?
Maybe you thought you could skirt around it. Maybe you thought that by getting good at other things, you could be successful in spite of avoiding this.
Unfortunately, that’s not the way it works.
The reason for this is that there’s synergy between putting together all the things you need to know. Because of this synergy, your weakness sets the height of your success.
You’re going to have to face this thing you’re avoiding.
What is this thing you need to stop avoiding?
In your contracting business it may be sales. It may be your ability to hire good people. Maybe you need a new facility but haven’t wanted to face moving or a large investment.
Whatever this thing is you have been avoiding, you need to face it.
We all have a self-image, a belief of who we are. A belief about what kind of leader we are. Of what kind contractor we are.
Each morning when you wake up, you decide who you are and how you’re going to show up for the world. You have these beliefs that drive you to do the same things day after day. And these same things get you the same results.
In order to grow, to improve upon your successes, you have to challenge these beliefs. You have to create a new definition of who you are and who you could be.
Here’s the thing. The thing you are avoiding, the thing you don’t want to face is easier to handle than you think. You are making it more difficult than it is.
Telling yourself how difficult this is going to be, makes it more difficult. But you can face it. You don’t even have to handle it yourself. You can hire someone else to be the expert and handle it.
Change your beliefs about who you are and what your business is. It then becomes easier for you to change your actions and start getting different results.
